What are the benefits of having a Crowe Resource Officer on campus?
We’ve all heard that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Prevention is what Crowe Resource Officers are all about. An appropriate officer presence can circumvent physical and emotional trauma. It can also protect your school’s reputation and reduce your liability should an unforeseen event take place or if you don’t have your required documentation up to date.
What can you expect from our resource officers?
Our officers regularly monitor all aspects of your campus to identify threats and vulnerabilities of all types with a special focus on controlling access to physical areas and students
Having great relationships between faculty, students and resource officers promotes transparency and helps everyone to feel secure knowing that their safety is a priority. When students feel safe, they feel valued.
Beginning with an exhaustive security assessment is a good start. But, identifying threats is an ongoing process and ever-changing one as well. Our officers will continue to make sure that your school is held to the highest standard of safety and security and that it meets all government required certifications and documentation.
Not every school is the same. Each has its own needs, layout and personality. Our personnel can train students and faculty alike to identify, report and respond to potential threats as they arise. We believe that an educated body is a secure one. When seconds matter, you will always revert to your highest level of training.
Our officers attend and participate in school functions and can manage an increased need for security personnel. Certain items such as sporting events and field trips may require additional officers. In addition to School Resource Officers, we also specialize in certified and Sworn Law Enforcement Officers for special events and campus policing.
Just having an officer on-site makes your campus, many time more, likely to deter nefarious individuals. Mere presence alone reduces theft, assaults and other harmful activities.
We never like to talk about it, but the world we live in seems to be getting more dangerous for students and staff alike. Our officers have the latest training needed to effectively respond to active shooters and unruly students. They act as a liaisons between schools and local law enforcement agencies, keeping them informed on what’s unfolding on campus.
Reports of active shooters get a lot of attention these days, as they should. But 99% of campus emergencies come in other forms such as physical and mental health issues, environmental threats and natural disasters. Just to name a few. Our on-going assessments help you to plan for as many contingencies as possible.
Part of developing good relationships with students is educating them on the dangers of drugs and alcohol, physical bullying, online bullying, general online safety and teaching them to have an awareness of their surroundings for their personal security and for the protection of others that may be at risk as well.
